Welcome back crafty friends! I find that lately I have been doing really well at creating new things, but not doing a great job at sharing them. I have a plan in place to try to work on changing that…starting with today’s masculine scrapbook layout.

This layout started with a white piece of cardstock trimmed down and mounted on a piece of navy patterned paper from the kit. I’ve been using liquid glue to do this rather than my tag, and boy has having that wiggle room during drying helped me get my bases down a lot straighter…even if I struggle to get a perfectly straight photo.
I originally completed this layout without the mixed media, but it was just to white. To combat this I added some ink using the packaging technique (color is discontinued), and it went from being a layout I wasn’t sure about to one I really liked. I have tried the packaging technique many times before and I hadn’t been a fan until very recently. What makes the difference for me is taking a tissue or paper towel and sopping some of it up before it dries. It adds the color, but makes it subtle.
Ok – enough about the layout as you can see what I did with the paper strips and embellishments. Let me tell you the story of the photos. Each year for Christmas I fill my husbands stocking. Just recently I have been trying to do themed stocking rather than little tickets. Stuff he’ll really use, but it also kinds of funny.
Last year I did personal things – cigar center soap – dapper dan hair gel from the movie O Brother Where Art Thou – etc. This year I decided to fill the entire stocking with little bottles of liquor like the kind you get in the mini bar. I figured it would be fun to try all different drink concoctions without buying big bottles. My hubby laughed and laughed when he took the third bottle out and pretended he was drinking it all in one shot. It will be a fun memory.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this layout and I’ll be sure to be back with more soon. Until then – stay crafty!
