Toddler Boy Scrapbook Layout

October 3, 2018

Hey craft friends!  Welcome to another project share for the Southern Girls Challenge design team.  Team Lou was asked to use stripes on our project for this challenge.  I created a toddler boy scrapbook layout, but this could easily be a layout for a male of any age with a few embellishment tweaks.

Use striped paper to create a toddler boy scrapbook layout that with a few embellishment tweaks could work for a male of any age.

The paper I used for this layout was a VERY old Echo Park mini called I believe just called boy.  I brought this along on my retreat and used this layout to finish it up.  I also have to say I am in live with the thickers I used for this title.  They are just a touch bigger than tile alphas, but aren’t so overwhelming like some sizes can be.  They also come two colors to a package…navy and white.

The photo is of our son who is almost 8, and was on my sisters instagram…hence the title.  In this photo he wasn’t even yet three.  I can’t believe how quickly time has flown.

I obviously used the striped paper as my largest layer, but it wasn’t popping off the paper how I’d like so I mounted it on white inked with a green that matched the green in the papers.  It gave it just enough pop.  I’ll also give you a tip.  The center of the blue paper is gutted out and the photo is mounted on the scrap.  Doing that A) reduces waste and B) ensures a perfect match.

Use striped paper to create a toddler boy scrapbook layout that with a few embellishment tweaks could work for a male of any age.

Well,  I think the rest of what I did you can see from the photo so I’ll leave you with the question.  What is your best tip for killing a kit that you’ve had in your stash for ages? Don’t forget to come over to Southern Girls and see whatever has created and submit your own entry.  Until next time…stay crafty!
