Hey guys…I’m bbbaaccckkk! I’ve been creating, but not really sitting down and blogging about it. Today I’m going to share with you a single photo soccer scrapbook layout. I have a large backlog of “professional” sports photos so I’m hoping to get all of them done this year. I want to do them every few layouts though so they all don’t look the same
I know I saw this each time I’m on hiatus, but hopefully I can stick with the writing portion more now. Loads has happened since we last “chatted”, but the biggest one is that we moved. It’s only down the street, but it’s still an exhausting endeavor. One of the scrapbook challenges about moving is finding new lighting to take good pictures of my layouts.. That is something I’m still struggling with. Bear with me as I figure that out.
For this layout I started with a sketch from the Scrap A Sketch Facebook group. I am able to share this sketch because it’s a free one from the group! They do also have a paid premium sketch subscription, but I haven’t jumped into being a part of that yet.
Since I only have a handful of soccer themed papers I thought this sketch was perfect for maximizing the impact, but not using all my papers up. The one photo worked perfectly too as when we have soccer photos taken each year we only get one pose. I also don’t have any actions shots from the games. Since we started coaching several years ago, I’m paying all my attention to the game rather than taking photos of my player.
The squares on my layout are 1.75 inches in both length and width. For me on inch squares were to busy, and two inch squares didn’t leave any white space between them. I also inked every square with the opposite main color of the page. The fact that the soccer collection is black and green worked perfectly with out township colors being green, white and black. This layout didn’t need many embellishments as the papers took right care of that.
Okay, I think I’ve been chatty enough for one post. If you have any lighting suggestions pass them on over. I’m in front of a bay window and have two daylight bulbs pointing at my desk. Until next time….stay crafty!
