Adorable Baby Girl Scrapbook Layout

August 23, 2020

Hey crafty friends!  Welcome to another layout here at The Paper Addict.  Thank you for joining me.  Today I want to share my adorable baby girl scrapbook layout that I created for the August challenge over at Scrap the Girls.

scrap the girls august 2020

This month the blog challenged us to use an inspiration image to create the layout.  It’s one that is VERY open to interpretation. When I looked at the image I saw a lady who looked happy to be opening her heart to new growth.  What better to depict new growth and happiness than a baby.  This lead me to my daughters five month old baby shoot, and one of my favorite photos of her ever.

Adorable Baby Girl Scrapbook Layout

I started with a pink piece of cardstock from American crafts as the base of this layout since I didn’t have any full 12×12 pieces of patterned paper left.  I then took the largest piece of paper I had to create the base.

Everything else on the layout is scraps! I distressed all the edges and layered them in various ways to create a base for them in the middle of the paper.  Some strips long the right edge and paper wise I felt like I had enough interest and any more would be to much.

I sprinkled on my embellishments and a silver foiled title piece and the layout was complete.  It really didn’t take all that long…maybe 30 minutes, which for me is great!

Back to creating I go everyone.  Let me know what you created with this image so I can see how you interpreted it.  Until next time…stay crafty!

Pretty Princess Scrapbook Layout

June 26, 2019

Hi guys!  Welcome back to a layout post here at The Paper Addict.  I’ve been scrapping a bit if you’ve been watching you my youtube channel, but I’m glad to be back blogging again too.  This pretty princess scrapbook layout was created for the newest challenge over at Southern Girls.

For this round my team used stripes on their projects.  I have used stripes in two different ones on this layout.  Can you find them both? One is fairly obvious and the other, in person, is much more subtle.

If you watched my first Crafty Maven Getaway Youtube Hop video this princess scrapbook layout is the accompanying page to that layout. The event was a pretty princess photo shoot our daughter was invited to for her friend Tessa’s birthday.

Thanks so much for sticking with me.  Until next time….Stay Crafty!

Santa Clause Scrapbook Layout

November 25, 2018

It’s the most wonderful time of the year – time for the annual 25 Days Of Christmas Movies Blog Hop! #ChristmasMoviesHop

We have 25 talented bloggers gathered together to share with you all the wonderful crafts and recipes you can make this Christmas season, based off of some of the most beloved holiday classic films. There are 25 films to be inspired by for your holiday season, and 25 talented bloggers to aid your inspiration! If you love Christmas movies, you have come to the right place!!

Hey Crafty Friends!  I’m very happy to be joining everyone again for another 25 Days of Christmas Movies blog.  Last year I did a mini album based on the Santa Clause 3 movie.  This year I created a Santa Clause Scrapbook Layout based on the first movie.

Need a quick and easy santa layout with room for lots of photos. Come see my Santa Clause Scrapbook Layout featuring four photos.

My original intention with this layout was to use photos of our kids breakfast with Santa outing that our school does as a fundraiser every year.  Unfortunately, this year it fell after the hop so I didn’t have any photos.  What I did instead was created the layout and made white holding places for the photos.  This is a great idea if you want to make something in advance or if you’re making an album for a gift. These photos are 4×6 and there 3×3.  I love how there are lots of photos, but still white space on the layout.  It doesn’t feel over crowded.

Santa Clause Scrapbook Layout

I think my favorite parts about this layout are the little details.  The journalling strips inked in red to match the red paper strip and the red photo mat.  The chipboard title embossed in gold.  For me it’s those little details that make a layout look cohesive.

Thank you for joining me this year for my Santa Clause Scrapbook Layout.  If you’d like to see the mini album I created last year inspired by the 3rd Santa Clause movie it can be found here. Don’t forget to meet the rest of the hosts for the hop to be inspired by food, drink and all kinds of holiday bits and bobs.

Ten Stocking Stuffers For Scrapbookers

December 11, 2017

With Christmas just a week or two away I thought I’d share with you ten reasonably priced stocking stuffer ideas for the scrapbooker in your life.  I may, or may not, have shared some of these ideas with my hubby…wink wink 🙂

1.    Adhesive refills – a scrapbooker never has enough adhesive. My top suggestions would be the refill for whatever gun they use.  I use an ATG tape glider so I’d love to see some of those refills in my stocking.
2.    Sticker Maker – I use this small machine by Xyron when adhering die cut titles or other tiny paper pieces.  Pick up the machine and a refill and you’d also have a nice hostess gift for a scrapper.
3.     Pens – Sneak a peak, if you can, through the scrappers pen cup to see their favorite as we each have our own.  If you don’t know these Sharpie pens are one of my favorite and the Signo white is also very popular
4.     Roller Stamp – The one above happens to be a date stamp, but roller stamps come with all kinds of staying now as well.  They add a nice little something to a persons page without having to be “into” stamping or have a ton of supplies. Pair this with a simple black ink pad and they are set to go.
5.   Good Scissors – we really can’t have enough.  I have two pairs in two different sizes and they are always buried somewhere on my desk.  These Cutter Bee scissors are great for fussy cutting, and I’ve had mine for at least ten years and never needed to sharpen them.

6. Tweezers – a decent pair of tweezers can make placing small gems or enamel dots a breeze, and those tiny embellishments can make or break the look of a page.  In my experience the spring loaded tweezers work a ton better that the regular ones you can buy at the big box stores.

7. Dimensional Foam – either pop dots or foam tape allow your scrapper to add pop of dimension on their photo, die cut or sticker giving their page more interest and style.

8. Inkers – these hand held chalk inkers come in 40 colors, but are also sold singularly.  They are perfect for inking the edges of paper to add small pops of color around the page.  That small detail can really tie a color scheme together.

9. Un-Du – This adhesive remove is aside free and photo safe allowing a scrapper to remove an item that was already placed down.  This has saved my own layouts on numerous occasions. One example is I had an entire layout done and then miss-spelled a word in my title.  Without the Un-Du I would have had to completely start over instead of removing just that one area.
10.  Gift Card – if all else fails you can’t go wrong with a gift card to their favorite online or local scrappy store.

I hope this gives you some ideas for the stocking of the scrapper in your life, and I hope to see some of them in my own stocking!  I’ll be sure to keep you updated on that front.
