Santa Clause Scrapbook Layout

November 25, 2018

It’s the most wonderful time of the year – time for the annual 25 Days Of Christmas Movies Blog Hop! #ChristmasMoviesHop

We have 25 talented bloggers gathered together to share with you all the wonderful crafts and recipes you can make this Christmas season, based off of some of the most beloved holiday classic films. There are 25 films to be inspired by for your holiday season, and 25 talented bloggers to aid your inspiration! If you love Christmas movies, you have come to the right place!!

Hey Crafty Friends!  I’m very happy to be joining everyone again for another 25 Days of Christmas Movies blog.  Last year I did a mini album based on the Santa Clause 3 movie.  This year I created a Santa Clause Scrapbook Layout based on the first movie.

Need a quick and easy santa layout with room for lots of photos. Come see my Santa Clause Scrapbook Layout featuring four photos.

My original intention with this layout was to use photos of our kids breakfast with Santa outing that our school does as a fundraiser every year.  Unfortunately, this year it fell after the hop so I didn’t have any photos.  What I did instead was created the layout and made white holding places for the photos.  This is a great idea if you want to make something in advance or if you’re making an album for a gift. These photos are 4×6 and there 3×3.  I love how there are lots of photos, but still white space on the layout.  It doesn’t feel over crowded.

Santa Clause Scrapbook Layout

I think my favorite parts about this layout are the little details.  The journalling strips inked in red to match the red paper strip and the red photo mat.  The chipboard title embossed in gold.  For me it’s those little details that make a layout look cohesive.

Thank you for joining me this year for my Santa Clause Scrapbook Layout.  If you’d like to see the mini album I created last year inspired by the 3rd Santa Clause movie it can be found here. Don’t forget to meet the rest of the hosts for the hop to be inspired by food, drink and all kinds of holiday bits and bobs.

FabScraps Artist Trading Coin Blog Hop

September 21, 2018

Hey crafty friends!  I’m so glad to be back today bringing you something new.  I have partnered up with some of the other design team members to bring you a Fabscraps artist trading coin blog hop.  I had never heard of these before the girls approached me and it was fun to try something completely out of my wheelhouse.

Giveaway:

You know though that no blog hop is complete without a prize! There is one FABulous FabScraps gift up for grabs.

To join this GIVEAWAY you must leave a comment on each blog post to have a chance at getting your hands on the prize.

The Winner will be chosen at random on the 28th of September 2018 from the comments left on ALL THE POSTS. Our crowned crafty will be announced on the FabScraps blog for all to see.

FabScraps Artist Trading Coin Blog Hop

The Details:

I had made artist trading cards before, but had never heard of an artist trading coin.  The other ladies were very gracious in teaching me.  You start with a circle that is 2.5 inches in diameter, and then alter from there.

I used the Fabscraps collection C103 called coffee confessions for my coins.  The first one I used the clear stickers that I placed on white paper to make them stand out from the patterned background.  This is how I tend to use clear stickers because otherwise I feel like they get lost.

For my second coin I used some die cuts from the carders pack, and added some doodling and tiny word stickers.  You don’t have to add a million layers to make something really cute.  Don’t get me wrong I love a good layer, but I felt like anything more distracted from the die cut.

And then last but not least is what I’d call the center of my trio. I added a doily to the card so it’s bigger than 2.5, but I figured artist freedom allowed that 🙂  To add texture to the background I used the stencil from the collection with some distress ink, and then popped up another die-cut from the carders pack.

FabScraps Artist Trading Coin Blog Hop

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my newest paper adventure, and I’d love to see what you do if you try your hand and creating some.  Don’t forget to hop on over to all the other ladies and leave them some love.  Not only will you get loads of inspiration you’ll have the chance to win the giveaway!  Really, who doesn’t love a giveaway 🙂  Until next time….stay crafty!

Bling Beach Scrapbook Layout

May 9, 2018

Hey crafty friends!  So excited to be joining the hop this month with my bling beach scrapbook layout.
To create this layout I started with a VERY old (3 years to be exact) kit from My Creative Scrapbook as well as a few bits and pieces from my very first The Secret Not Secret Kit Club kit.  I combined them to create a bling beach scrapbook layout featuring both our son and daughter.
I used a bubble die cut that came in my kit and filled it in with patterned paper from the other kit.  The circles helped as you could embellish each one individually to add to the whole design.  For some I went plain and for others I layered it up.  I also did some with just a dashed line so it was interesting, but didn’t really cause any distraction to the rest of the elements.
glittery, shiny, sparkly, or blinged out crafts
Now I know what you’re thinking…where’s the bling!?  It is harder to see in the large photo so I took a few close ups for you.  The first place I added some sparkle was in the lower left cluster of embellishments.  Stickles to the sea shell and pineapple were the perfect thing.

I also used a clear wink of stella pen in the upper left corner on the ampersand. I like the clear wink of stella the best since it doesn’t alter the color of the item I’m using it on.  I have several other colors, but they never seem to match the piece I want to sparkle up so clear is my most used. I also inked this with a slightly different aqua than the rest of the page to try and make it pop just a bit.
On the first Monday-Wednesday of each month, a group of DIY and crafty bloggers join forces to bring you the #BlingontheCrafts blog hop. Each blogger creates a glittery, sparkly, shiny, shimmery, sequined, or “blingy” craft to share that goes with a monthly theme. May's theme is summer. Each blogger chooses their own craft to make as long as it shines and is summer themed. If you’d like to participate next month, you can request to join our Bling on the Crafts Facebook group. Next month’s theme is patriotic! Now let's see all of those glittery, shiny, sparkly, or blinged out crafts!
I hope you enjoy my creation and what the other ladies have created.  Make sure to hop on over and see what they’ve done!

Now let’s check out the rest of the amazing Christmas creations!

I’m so excited to be back today sharing a mini album that I made as part of the 25 days of Christmas movies blog hop.  We each have picked a movie and created a project around that movie.  For my inspiration I chose the movie The Santa Clause Three.

I chose this movie due to the inclusion of Jack Frost…snow/cold is one of my favorite things.  The inspiration for a snow themed mini album was born.
I created a waterfall mini album using one piece of chipboard and a My Creative Scrapbook kit I’ve had since 2015.  Most of the items are from the Pebbles Winter Wonderland collection.  There sadly isn’t much of it left out there as it was gorgeous.

I love the way the waterfall looks with the lacy corners, and frosty colors.  I used my favorite Fiskars corner rounder because I thought it looked like a lacy snow pattern.
I chose a simple design for the cover that emphasized snow, but left room for the owner to put a photo in.  The addition of a photo would make it truly unique to that person.
I have also created a youtube video on my channel showing how I put the book together.  I’d love if you came over and checked it out.
Before you hop on to the other blogs I have a giveaway.  I’d like to send this journal to one hop participant.  To enter just leave a comment here, become a follower, hop on over to the youtube video, leave a comment there and subscribe as well!  I can’t wait to see who wins.  Happy Hopping!
