One Sheet Wonder Cards

April 12, 2017

Hey everyone!  I’ve been keeping something under my hat and can finally share with you.  I’m a guest designer for part of April and May over at the challenge blog Use Your Stuff. I have participated with them before, but not nearly enough.

Their challenge this week is to use flower…eeekk…not something I’ve done a lot of with only having a girl the last year, and doing boy layouts for six.  I have to say though after some thought I came up with an awesome idea…well if I do say so myself!

I did a search on Pinterest for one sheet wonder ideas.  Yes – all eight of these cards were made with one sheet of patterned paper, and two sheets of cardstock.  I’m not a regular cardmaker, but this is certainly and idea I can get behind and a great way to use papers I may not use otherwise.

The paper is one I received in a Studio Calico kit years ago if I’m not mistaken.  It’s from Pink Paisley’s Switchboard collection and the specific paper is Hey There.  The punches and stamps are from my Stampin’ Up stash that I’ve had for years.

I hope this gives you a new look at some of that paper you may not use in your traditional way, and I hope it inspires you to pull out some flowers and link up with the Use Your Stuff challenge. I’ll be back with them in early May so stay tuned for some more of their great challenges.

Dots and Spots Birthday Card

May 22, 2015

Good Morning everyone and welcome to another reveal for Southern Girls Challenge. This time we were asked to create something with dots or spots.  Here is the card I created…

This is actually one of eight cards I created. I gave a one sheet wonder template a try and was completely stoked with my results.  The paper is a from a Hampton Arts collection called Playlist…the exact paper is called Volume. I used this paper not only for the dots/spots, but because with all the different colors the cards can now be used for a male or female recipient.
The stamp is from a old CTMH collection stamped with Memento ink in Tuxedo Black.  The punch is a standard scalloped circle, but I believe mine is from Stampin Up.
I hope you come join our dots and spots challenge, and I’d love to hear if you ever used a one sheet wonder template and what you thought of the results.  Until Next time…Keep Scrapping!

Now on with the projects!
So I saw this awesome scraps card on…oh gosh…I can’t find it on my pinterest board or my bloglovin feed  anymore 🙁  I wanted to give the girl who came up with the idea credit….if you’re reading this and it’s you…please chime in with your blog!  Lori found me – and to see her original card click: Here
Anyway, She took her scraps and used them all across her card with a horizontal saying.  I’ve been trying to using my scraps after each layout to create a card.  That way I don’t have a huge drawer of scraps anymore and I have a nice stash of cards.  So using her idea I created the following, but went vertical instead of horizontal:
So you’re next stop is Lisa’s awesome blog, but before you go please sign up to follow me through google or bloglovin, and follow my Facebook page, for a chance to win a prize package of my choosing.

Mother’s Day Card

January 29, 2015

Hey Everyone – welcome to another reveal at Southern Girls Challenge. We were asked this time to create something with a little sparkle or shine.  I choose to create a sparkly Mother’s Day card for my sister-in-law.  I know it’s really early, but I don’t usually use sparkle having a boy so I thought this was the perfect chance to make a card for a lady.
The paper is from My Mind’s Eye called Indie Chic Nutmeg.  I used this paper to do a layout you’ll be seeing in the near future and wanted to use the scraps for something as well.  The wave is cut with my Kiwi Lane templates.  Since the patterned papers were busy on their own I kept my embellishments rather simple.  The glitter washi tape is from Recollections if I remember correctly, and the bling is from Queen and Co.
So will you be joining us for the sparkle and shine challenge?  Do you mainly create one gender projects and struggle with the other?  Inquiring minds want to know!  Until next time…Keep Scrapping!
