Birthday Spinner Card

November 28, 2014

Happy Black Friday everyone.  Whether you went shopping this morning, and are home now, or slept in…grab a cup of your favorite beverage and join me for some spinner inspiration today for the Paper Crafter Anonymous website.

I started off with a spinner base and the chalk it up paper.  This came together in no time.  Some matching pink paper, washi and a stamped sentiment and it was done.

The stamp set I used was Holiday Tags Occasions.  The circle fit perfectly layered in the spinner.  This set really is wonderful though.  It has five different sentiment tags and fifteen different sayings.  I used another one of the tags on my Christmas criss cross card seen here.

I included a video of the spinner portion so you could see how adorable it is.

Hope you’re inspired to sit and create something today.  Until next time…Keep Scrapping!

You’re Invited Card

November 27, 2014

Happy Thanksgiving!  It’s time for another reveal at Southern Girls Challenge.  It’s their 100th challenge so the theme is Celebration.
I chose to make a card inviting friends and family to an outdoor celebration.  All the patterned paper and stickers are from the Doodlebug Happy Camper collection.  The letters and washi are from the general Doodlebug line.  I’ll tell you I’m in LOVE with these letter stickers.  The font and size are just perfect for cards and accent titles on scrapbook pages.   I thought the paper with the place setting was just perfect for a barbecue invitation card.
When you’re having a gathering do you make invitations or purchase?  Until next time…Keep Scrapping!

12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop

November 24, 2014

Hi everyone and welcome to day one of the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop.  You should have arrived here from Lisa’s blog.
The idea of this hop is to give you 12 days of inspiration to get those Christmas projects done.  You may see cards, layouts, mini albums, altered items or home decor…you’ll have to visit each day to not miss a thing.
For my project today I chose to make a Christmas card, but a style you don’t see so often…criss cross.  I liked how this style gave my Doodlebug Designs paper a real chance to shine.  With minimal other embellishments you really get a chance to see how awesome these papers are.
One of the fun things about a criss cross card is the insert is another opportunity to embellish and use your cool tools.  To make my pull tab I used the Epiphany crafts shape tool along with some of the patterned paper.  I was really thrilled with how this project came out.
Now before you head off to Scrappin Madge’s I’d love if you followed me here and on my Facebook page (link on the sidebar).  I’ll be back later in the hop schedule to share more inspiration with you.  Until next time…Keep Scrapping!

Ladies’ Birthday Card

November 14, 2014

Since I did a male birthday card for Paper Craft Anonymous last week, I thought this week I would share a birthday card for the ladies.  I pulled out a sketch from my pinterest stash to get me started.  The sketch is from Sweet & Sassy stamps and it called for me to use it right away.
I pulled out one of Close To My Heart Brushed papers and got right to work.  I chose the black from the flower details for my matting to set the two papers apart.  A black ribbon, a few gems and I was good to go.  15 minutes from start to finish and I had a beautiful card.
Do you use sketches for your cards as well as your scrapbooks?  I love how they spark my creativity.  Until next time…Keep Scrappin!

Happy Birthday – Boy Birthday Card

November 7, 2014

Happy Friday everyone.  Thank you for joining me for another inspiration.  We had a 5th birthday to attend and I chose to make a card rather than by one.  I know making cards doesn’t always take ten minutes, but when cards have reached $4.99 to $8.99 I certainly try to fit making one in.

This was the first time I tried to make my own background out of stamps.  I chose the tire tracks, and the yellow washi reminded me of yellow road lines.  The tracks also match the distressed shutter lines in the inspiration photo at the Pink Elephant challenge.

A dump truck, some dirt and the birthday number and I was ready to go.  This card actually took only about 20 minutes to make, and I was really pleased with how it came it.  It was a big hit at the party too.

Until next time…Keep Scrappin’

The Pink Elephant Challenge – Photo – the distressed shutter lines inspired my distressed tracks, and the single focus element inspired my single large dump truck focus
