Southern Girls Reveal – Word Challenge

October 16, 2014

Welcome to another reveal at Southern Girls Challenge. This time we are challenging you to use lots of words on your project.
For my project I started with an older DCWV paper stack called Linen Closet.  I loved this, but have only ever been able to find the mat stack so I used it mainly for cards and hoard it like there’s no tomorrow.  Anyone else do that with your favorite papers?
I then pulled out one of the Stamps of Life sets I purchased the Somerset, NJ Scrapbook Expo.  I am absolutely in love with this set, and it’s matching dies.  Having the dies makes the cup, and label, so easy to use.  Click Here to see everything I purchased at the expo.
I used chocolate ink from Color Box for my stamping…a freebie I got at the expo  To give a little interest I just added three My Minds Eye wooden dots.
I’m going to make a whole set of matching cards to give to my coffee obsessed sister.  Anyone she sends them too will certainly know it’s from her.  Would love to see what you come up with for the words challenge.  Until next time…Keep Scrapping!

Close To My Heart Cherish This Card

October 3, 2014

Just dropping in with here with another project inspiration for Paper Crafter Anonymous.  This card uses the Chalk It Up paper collection, and was one of those cards that took on a life of it’s own.

I started out making this is a back to school card for a teen with a believe in yourself sentiment, but obviously that never happened.  I didn’t like the way the sentiment embossed.  I think it may have had to many details because I used fine embossing powder and regular it melted all into each other.

What I ended up with was an encouragement card for a mom that may be going through a stressful back to school time with her kiddos.  All the changes can wear anyone out, but I thought the sentiment of cherish this would help remind that special mom in your life that someday we’ll miss this!

The sentiment is embossed with aqua powder.  The embellishments are elements are cut from the paper using my epiphany crafts epoxy machine, and the smile is a cut up photo overlay.

I hope this inspires you to let your cards ideas take a life of their own, and lead you in new creative directions.  Until next time…keep scrapping!

Close To My Heart Friendship Card

September 19, 2014

Hi everyone Lyne here with another inspiration for Paper Crafter Anonymous.  Hubby and I are blessed with an almost four year old son so any pink I use usually shows up on my cards.

As is my usually style I kept this card really clean and simple.  A few gems and some banners made from matching paper are the main embellishment. As a tip for you – the striped banner is actually the part at the bottom of the paper we usually cut off and throw away.

The stamped heart sits on some pop dots, and is colored with copic markers.  The markers match the aqua dots in the top patterned paper.

Hope you’re enjoying seeing what I’ve been creating and I’d love to have you as a follower of my blog.  Until next week….Keep Scrapping!

Practical Scrappers – July Blog Hop

July 25, 2014

Welcome to my first, of hopefully many, submission in the monthly Practical Scrappers Scrap Our Stash blog hop.  You should have arrived here from Majken’s blog.
This go around we had a theme of using either Christmas or Winter.  Since I had already done a Christmas item this week I went with a winter theme.   The papers are from the 6×6 pad of Carta Bella’s Winter Fun collection.  I love how this has traditional winter elements, but in creative reds and teals.  The sticker is from Authentique’s Glistening collection, and lastly the sequins are from Doodlebug.
To give my snowflake a little something extra without loosing the cards clean and simple feel.  I went over it with a clear Wink of Stella pen.  It gives it a subtle shimmer without being over the top.
Now for the extra fun part…blog candy.  I have a 6×6 Lawn Fawn paper pad to give away to a US based fan, and maybe a few other goodies too.  To be entered to win you must leave me a comment on this page, follow me on Bloglovin and my Facebook page.  Links for both are on the right side of my blog.
Up next please head over to Jennifer’s page, and until next time…Keep Scrapping!

All Boy Card

June 9, 2014

Hey Everyone – I’m back two days in a row!  This morning my father and I were taking my son somewhere special so I didn’t have to leave as early as normal, and I decided to make a quick card for the Sketch~n~Scarp card challenge, the Sister Act Card Challenge “Anything Goes”, and the Craft Your Passion Boys challenge. Can you tell I love the Sketch~N~Scrap sketches – they always challenge me to use what I have!
I used one of my favorite collections from Echo Park – All Abut A Boy.  I cut the banners and arrow by hand, and then used an embossing folder for the background.  The dots are pearl pens…another favorite product of mine.
I’ve been on such a roll lately that I’m wondering when the mojo is going to end 🙂  Until next time – keep scrapping!
