Welcome to another Friday reveal for Paper Craft Anonymous. This week I made a clean and simple Halloween card. I used the bird from the Believe in Yourself set, heat embossed him in black and fussy cut.
I used the front and back of one of the designer papers from the collection Scaredy Cat as my card bases. I like using both the front and back since they are designed to match each other.
Lastly I dry embossed some matching purple paper with a diagonal stripe. I felt the dry embossing added interest, but didn’t overwhelm the patterns.
I used this bird for Halloween since he looked a little creepy to me, but I could definitely see him also being used for more steampunk cards or even a mixed media canvas. What would you use him for?
Until next time…Keep Scrapping!
Fast and Furious Boy Card
Welcome to my first post for Paper Crafter Anonymous…the awesome team run by Close To My Heart rep Heather.
For my first project I chose to make a boy card since I use a lot of those. I also made this card entirely from scraps so I could show what beautiful results you can get with your leftovers.
I didn’t put a specific sentiment on the outside of the card on purpose. I wanted to be able to store it in my stash and use it for maybe birthday, high school graduation or even a boy get well card.
I hope you enjoyed my first creation for this blog, and will come each week to check out what I’ve created. Until next time…keep scrapping!
Studio Calcio You and Me Layout
I have really been challenging myself to use my Studio Calico kits, even though they haven’t been my normal style. This was the Camelot kit from I believe June. Except for the names I ended up really loving how this came out. I loved up right up until I added my handwriting…anyone else have that problem?
Since I was outside my comfort zone I went searching all over for inspiration and man did I find it. Sketch #75 over at Let’s Capture Our Memories was my main starting point. Laura Whitaker really hit it out of the park for me on this one. I loved how simple it was and the doily…was just calling my name. I took a plain white doily and misted it with Tattered Angels spray.
I was also inspired by the Challenge Yourself blog idea of having yourself in the photo with one of the men in your life. I am rarely in our pictures so I love the idea of this blog.
I also want to enter this into Crafty Girl’s Challenge – Anything goes. I appreciate finding new places to show off my creations.
So what have you been working on? Until next time – keep scrappin!
Celebrate Card
The Crafting With Dragonflies blog is celebrating their first birthday, and having a celebrate card challenge.
I chose to make this card with this Close To My Heart sentiment because it’s cute, but also generic enough that I could use it for many different occasion rather than just one.
I started with a Doodlebug Designs card base and inked the edges in a slightly lighter green. Added some co-ordinating wash tape, and the cut out with stamped sentiment. The green gem is from Queen & Co. Easy and quick, but very cute too.
I also want to enter this card in the Sister Act Card Challenge: Anything goes. Make sure to check them out often as they have really cool card challenges.
Until next time….Keep on creating!
