Purple Wedding Scrapbook Layout

July 23, 2018

Hey crafty friends!  I’m here today sharing my second layout for Scrap Our Stash.  For the second challenge of the month we needed to blend elements of two sketches, and also add sequins.  I used parts of each sketch to create a primarily purple wedding scrapbook layout.

For reference here are the two sketches:

Both sketches had a long element strip…one on the left side and one in the middle. I took that idea and used a strip of paper along the right hand side and added a border to it since the paper I had left didn’t see quite wide enough once I placed my photo down.

Both sketches also had a relatively small title.  Since this was a wedding photo it didn’t need a big explanation so I used the small title idea and used just a single chipboard word from the collection I was working with.

The second sketch also had heart as the main embellishments.  I used some chipboard hearts, metal hearts and two patterned papers that had hearts in them.  You can also see some of my added sequins in this photo.  Have I shared with you before that I found a new way to attach my sequins that works so much better than liquid glue!?  Zots for bling are so much easier to work with for things this small, and you never have any dried glue showing.

Last but not least I saw that both sketches had a banner someone in there. To use this portion of the sketches I added a patterned paper banner under my photo.  I also added some chipboard banner words at the top to bring the concept into another area of my layout.

So how do you think I did combining the sketches?  Can you see the originals in there anywhere?  Be sure to head over to Scrap Our Stash and see what the other design team members created, and I can’t wait to see your creations as well.  Until next time…Stay crafty!

One Year Old Birthday Girl Scrapbook Layout

July 12, 2018

Hey crafty friends!  Welcome to another layout reveal!  This time I combined two things to create this one year old birthday girl scrapbook layout.  I used the tic tac toe challenge from my Southern Girls Challenge team, and the new A Moment in Time collection from my FabScraps team.  For me they combined to create a lovely layout for our girl.

One Year Old Baby Girl Scrapbook Layout

On the tic tact toe board the first line was bling, lace and white.  This photo shows you all of that in one shot.  I embossed the FabScraps piece with gold embossing powder, snipped it apart to use in two places, and back it in black…bling!  The doily is obviously white, and my background paper looks like lace.  I also have two other papers that look like they have lace on it behind the photo.

I backed all my layers with black cardstock, and the layout as a whole, because it made it pop off the lace paper so nicely.  I also added more bling with gold enamel dots and gold ink.  The flower embellishments are form Hobby Lobby and I’ve had them in my stash for about two years so I’m not sure if they would be available still.  I really need to expand my stash of flowers as little miss gets older.

So for the final reveal….

What do you think?  It’s adorable right!?  I hope you’ll head over to both the Southern Girls blog to check out the challenge, and to Fabscraps blog to see what all the other ladies have created with this collection.  Stay tuned to my youtube channel next week as I’ll have more projects shared there using this collection.  Until next time….stay crafty!

Family Scrapbook Layout Using Punches

May 3, 2018

Hey crafty friends!  I’m back today sharing another layout that I created for the Southern Girls Challenge.  I am on Team Lou, and made a boo boo and created a layout for Team Trace…oopppsss.  There are worse mistakes though right…at least it’s another memory documented.  The challenge this go round is to create a project using punches.  I created this family scrapbook layout using punches I had been neglecting for some time.

When I saw a sketch over at the Hip Kit Club I knew it was perfect for this challenge. I could use my circle punches to create the pattern, and then when I got punching my design took a total left turn.  You can still see the sketch in my layout, but it wasn’t what I planned at the beginning.

Another thing that makes this layout different for me is I used yellow cardstock as my base.  I don’t normally use anything beyond white, black and occasionally navy, but when I started laying my circles down it just needed something more.  I tried many of the colors in the patterned pages I used, but the yellow made the circles pop the most.

So without further ado….here the layout is: Family Scrapbook Layout Using Punches

I hope you enjoyed this layout, and if you enter the challenge make sure to leave me a comment below so that I can be sure to come check it out!

Explore| Felicity Jane | Stinkin Inkers | ScraPerfect

November 7, 2017

Hey everyone!  I’m here today with a double header.  It is my first project for my new team called Stinkin’ Inkers, and also uses products from my other team, ScraPerfect.
The challenge this month at Stinkin’ Inkers is to create a project surrounding being thankful.  This is a photo I took at the beach less than three months after our daughter was born.  I am thankful that I got to spend the last few days of my maternity leave making memories with my parents and kiddos (hubby couldn’t stay as long as we did).

You can see that several of my embellishments on this page are dimensional.  The flair, enamel dots and chipboard.  I attached all of these using my glue of choice…The Best Glue Ever.  If you haven’t seen my video about the strength of this glue please head over to my youtube channel.  It really is great.

The products on this layout are from the Felicity Jane Summer kit.  This is the last layout from that kit that I’ll be sharing.  I got eight from the kit in total.  Until next time…stay crafty!

Tips For Easy Sparkling Embellishment Creation

July 29, 2017

Hey Scrappy Friends!  I’m here today with my tip on using transfer foil to create easy and sparkling embellishments.
Prior to join the ScraPerfect team I have never worked with foils, but I saw they had so much potential to help me create tiny embellishments for my pages.  Using glue though I wasn’t having great success.  I know the other ladies use it to perfection, but I just couldn’t get it even enough for my liking.  Everything was bumpy, and that wasn’t what I was going for in this case.
I set them aside and got to thinking.  What could I do to make my adhesive application more even.  I thought about watering The Best Glue Ever down and using a brush, but that was more work than I wanted.  I wanted something quick and easy, and finally it came to me.  My Xyron machine!  I have two, but I used the smaller one to test my idea.
I cut a piece of cardstock to fit…ran it through the machine, and applied the foil.  Look at the perfect, and even, coat of foil on my paper.  I finally had the look I was going for!
I then took the tiny punches I keep on my desk for exactly this sort of thing and went to town.  I now have perfectly covered and smooth embellishments in my extras container using my scrap cardstock.
I now have two perfect ways to use my foil.  Glue for texture and Xyron for smooth.  Hope that gives you a new idea on how to use your foils.
