Looking Good | Bella Blvd

August 20, 2017

Hey Scrappy Friends!  I’m here today with a layout based on sketch 309 by Creative Scrappers. I flipped the sketch to accommodate the orientation of my photo and used a pocket life card in place of the second photo.  I think this is my number one tip for sketches…don’t be afraid to rotate them to fit your photos.
Everything on the page, except the enamel dots, is from the Bella Blvd Max collection.  I’ve had this collection for quite some time and it was the next up in my stash busting challenge.  The one thing I altered about the embellishments was the every day dude circle used to be a flower.  For me flowers don’t scream boy, and I didn’t like how large it was for the space so I cut it down.
To finish it off I added some Dylusions white linen splatters. I use this white ink because it stays on white on the dark surfaces.  Others I’ve tried just disappeared into the paper.
Okay – enough chattering from me for now…I should go create something!  Until next time…keep creating!

Easy Summer Camp 1 Page Layout – Guest Designer | Scrap The Boys

July 31, 2017

Hey Scrappy Friends!  I am so honored to be a guest designer for the Scrap The Boys challenge blog.  This month their challenge is to use a 5×7 photo.  I haven’t used anything that large in awhile and let me tell you…when I got the photo back from the printer it seemed HUGE!
The photo is our son all ready for his first field trip that an adult family member wasn’t going on with him.  It also wasn’t a small place they were going to a very large amusement park that had wet and dry rides….perhaps you’ve heard of it…Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom.  I’ll tell you…mom was more nervous than he was.  He had a blast…summer camp has been amazing for him and his energy level.

1 page Summer Camp Scrapbook Layout using Bella Blvd Max scrapbook supplies
On to the page….Since he was wearing black short and bright t-shirt I choose black textured American Crafts cardstock for my base.  I figured the colors would pop off the page better.  The patterned papers I used are from an older Bella Blvd collection called Max. The title and stars came from the 12×12 stickers sheet. The tiny word stickers came from the trinket stickers, but what I’m most excited about is the shark embellishment.  That came from the candid cards which are 2×2 – 4×6 cards that look like they are meant for project life.  I fussy cut the shark to match the shark on his shirt.
I outlined the title in a white Gelly Roll pen, and the doodle border on the star paper is just a thin Sharpe.  Some Dilyussions white linen splatters and some homemade enamel dots and I was done.  This layout only took me about half and hour, and of course I didn’t record it.
Well, that’s my page for today!  I hope you head on over to the Scrap The Boys blog and play long with this months challenge.  Be sure to let them know Lyne sent you.  Until next time….

Walk With Me Daddy

November 11, 2015

Happy Veterans Day Friends!  Today I’m sharing a layout I completed with the sketch from My Creative Sketches.  They are the challenge blog for the My Creative Scrapbook kits I receive.
This layout was a bit different for me, not only because it included circles, but because of the very toned down color palette. I really wanted to have the photo be the focus…more than usual anyway…so I stuck with grey and a light aqua.
The paper are from a Studio Calico kit from almost two years ago.  The grid paper was perfect for the large amount of journalling I wanted to do on this photo.  The title is a combination of thickers and Jillibean Soup mini alphas.  The little man flair is from A Flair For Buttons on Etsy.
Hope you enjoyed and leave me a link below if you used this sketch so I can check out what you created!

Best Day Ever Layout

June 8, 2014

When I saw the new sketch over at Sketch~N~Scrap, and the Old Is New challenge at A Cherry On Top  I knew right away what products I was going to use, and even what pictures.  I think this was one of the fastest layouts I’ve ever done.

I used the Simple Stories Sn@p Him collection, and my first cut from my new Silhouette.  I don’t do pocket scrapbooking, but have several card collections to use for layouts like this. The chevron down the side is modeling paste mixed with some acrylic paint and put through a Tim Holtz stencil.  I need some practice on this technique, but I really love how it comes out, and the depth it gives my layout!
I’ll be back soon with more new layouts.  Until then – keep scrapping!
