Beach Scrapbook Layout

January 6, 2018

Hey crafty friends!  Now that my desk is cleaned off I’m very happy to be back sharing a new layout creation with you.

I created this layout as part of challenges at the Secret Not Secret Kit Club.  We were challenged to make a summer scrapbook layout during the cold of winter, and man is it cold.   It was 8 degrees when I woke up this morning so I’d say it count as cold.

I used a VERY old kit from My Creative Scrapbook, and it took me a minute to be okay using the pink on a picture of my boys.  I’m very glad I did though because I think it came out well.

All of the paper layers under my photo are project life cards.  They came with the kit, and since I don’t do pocket scrapbooking, I challenged myself to get them on a page somehow.   Clusters in the upper left were created with small portions of 3×4 cards as well.I just love how this came out, and really wish I had done a process video to go with it to show how I managed to get all the layers just right when I wanted them.  The next set of kit club challenges is in mid January, and I can’t wait to complete more.  Can you believe I finished four layouts in two days!?

Well, I better get back to creating.  Thanks for stopping in with me today and until next time…keep crafting!

First Wink Layout

March 21, 2016

Thank you for joining me for another reveal for Scrapbook Challenges.  As you can tell I’ve really been enjoying the challenges this month and have gotten so much done.
This is another sketch challenge and of course I had to alter it.  I rotated the sketch and moved the title.  Where I used the two 3×4 pocket cards is where the title was intended to go.

The wink of my title was plain wood veneer.  I took some acrylic pain I had laying around and painted it to match my journalling card.
I also don’t know if you can tell in the photo, but I stitched down each side of the block like the dotted lines in the sketch.
I really love how you can take a sketch, and alter it slightly, to make it work for your photos.

It’s A Party Layout

January 28, 2016

Time for another layout – I’m on a roll this week!  I can’t believe how quickly this one came together using the sketch from ScrapMuch? Seriously…it was done in under 20 minutes, and I’m usually one that agonizes over where I place everything.

The collection I used was Be Different by Fancy Pants.  It was perfect for the sketch and the subject of my photos.  This was our son, and my nephew, at my aunts surprise wedding last June.  She told us it was a retirement party, but some of us guessed better 🙂  The journalling is hidden on the tab that says cousins…pull it up and voila!

Slide Buddies

December 20, 2015

Hi fellow scrappers!  I’m here today sharing my newest layout for the (P)inspired challenge over at Paper Issues Facebook group.  The photo had lots of red, white and black elements in it, but what spoke to me was a striped onesie (see the stripes on the sleeves of our sons shirt?) and the saying on the pin said Be the reason someone smiles today.  It’s hard to tell from the photo, but my husband is smiling over playing with our son in these photos.  It was the first time he has gotten to play with him at chick-fil-a.  I also used the black and white paper as a nod to the inspiration.
I had these photos on my desk for awhile, and had tried other things, but nothing seemed to work.  I even threw away a whole nights modeling paste work because it just didn’t complement the photos.  I think this design worked well.
The papers are from Bella Blvd Color Chaos collection and came with my June kit from My Creative Scrapbook.  This is the fifth layout I have gotten out of that kit, and still have tons left!
Thanks for joining me today.  I have plans to get more up this week, but in case I don’t…Have a Merry Christmas!
