It’s my day to reveal over on the Get Inky Blog. Their latest challenge is St. Patty’s Day/use green. My family is not Irish, but you can’t help hear about green beer so that’s where my inspiration came from. I used Get Inky’s jar and handle to create a beer mug and then used a blending tool to ink it a light green. The shamrocks are cut from patterned paper. I attached the mug to the card using an action wobble. It made me think of people having to much, and sloshing their mug around…silly I know!
Will you be joining us for this challenge? Don’t forget the top three are design team chosen so you’re work is always seen!
Get Inky Button Halloween Card
I know what you’re thinking… Halloween isn’t for another 8 months! As I peruse the internet though, I look at various posts and always think to myself, “What good does a Halloween card example do me on Halloween!!” As I approached this Get Inky button challenge I wanted to give you something you could use to plan ahead.
I used the Get Inky 2013 Halloween set to create my card. Going into the creation process the only thing I was certain of is I wanted to the ribbon to look like a messy horizontal spider web, and use the spider stamp like he had just finished spinning it.
The button, while it matches in color because black was to much of a contrast there, it the “prey” that got caught in the web. After all this thought I was exhausted…haha.
I hope you will come and join us for the button challenge. We also look forward to seeing what you create too!
Get Inky Valentine’s Challenge
It’s my first official 2014 post for Get Inky Challenges, and the inspiration is Valentine’s/Love. If you read the Get Inky blog you’ll know…I don’t usually make Valentine’s cards as I like the sappy poems on the store bought ones.
I had a purse shaped gift card holder that I’d never used and thought it was perfect for this. I used the stitched square and heart from Get Inky to make my embellishment.
I originally thought I was going to use several hearts in many colors so I wanted to share a tip with you. While at Walmart I went to the paint department and picked up a paint strip sample in the shades of pink I wanted. It would have been perfect for many heart as they all would have been graduated in the same family. I’m sure I’ll use that idea somewhere else in the future.
Will you be joining the challenge this week? If so, I can’t wait to see what you create.
Happy Valentine’s Card
We had another round of winter precipitation, and a delayed opening at work. Normally I go in at 8:15…we didn’t have to be there until one!!! I used this opportunity to take on a few challenges.
I used the wonderful card sketch from Sketch ~ N ~ Scrap for the design layout of my card. I then used three different challenges for the embellishment of my card. Craftin Desert Divas is having a color challenge. It’s red, white, and pink so I used those for my paper colors. Cards Galore and Southern Girls are both having a bling challenge so that was very easy to combine. I also stamped the heart inside my hearts with Get Inky Stamps. I hope you love how it came out because I do.
Get Inky Blog Hop Winner!
Gosh – I forgot to post my winner. I was cleaning up my desk to day and saw the prize and went…Oh Crud! With out further ado, the winner is Kim B! Kim won the card I created for the hop as well as a 6×6 paper pad from Recollections. It’s their new Valentine’s pad. I saw it at Michael’s and instantly knew that was the one for the winner.
