Travel Themed Scrapbook Layout

April 6, 2022

Hey crafty friends! Welcome back to another layout here at The Paper Addict.  This time I created a travel themed scrapbook layout with three photos…even though you only initially see one.

This layout was started with a sketch from Laura Whitaker’s book that she put out when she “retired.”  I printed it out, and had it bound, so that I could also pull it out without needing an electronic device.

Travel Themed Scrapbook Layout

I’m going to keep this post VERY short because you can hear all the details, and watch me create this, over on youtube.  I don’t want to bore you with double details.  Please let me know though if you’d rather them typed out over watching the video…I’m open to doing both!

Okay – I know – short and sweet, but it’s time to make supper.  Hopefully I get more time to create soon.  I so miss it when I’m away to long.  Until next time….stay crafty!

Dare HeIs | Felicity Jane

November 29, 2017

Hey friends!  I’m am so very excited to be here today as it’s my first share as part of the new Southern Girls Challenge team.  I have been with them before and am so glad to be with them again!

The challenge this go round is Anything Goes…who doesn’t love that challenges!  I used a sketch Laura Whitaker made for the Secret Not Secret Kit Club November challenge.

The layout was created with my Felicity Jane Willow kit.  This is the fifth layout I have created with this kit, and I’m hoping to kill it before year end.  I know that doesn’t sound like a lofty goal since there isn’t much left, but we all know how busy the holidays are!
Now I’m sure you are wondering what the title is as it seems like gibberish, but I promise it has a purpose and it part of the story.  Every day our puppy and our 1.5 year old daughter wait for out son’s bus to come down the street.
There are a few buses that come down the street and they seem to know those aren’t his.  When his come down the dog goes bananas and Julia screams…Dare HeIs = There he is!  It has to be the sweetest thing ever!!!
If you want to see some other layouts from this kit take a look at Young At Heart, Happy, So Big or 1st Fluff.
So, are you going to join the challenge?  If so please make sure to leave me a link so that I can be sure to check it out.  I’d love your thoughts on my layout as well.  Until next time…stay crafty!

4Ever Friends | Felicity Jane | Stuck Sketches

September 21, 2017

Hey Crafty Friends!  My post today is a layout I created for the September 15th sketch over at Stuck Sketches. If you’ve followed me for any amount of time you know I love Laura’s sketches.

Wedding layout created with Felicity Jane Summer kit

I did alter the sketch just a bit moving the photo and adding a cluster up at the top left of the page.  This is the best part about using sketches…you can alter them to make it work the photo, or supplies, you have.

For this layout I again used my Felicity Jane Summer kit.  The flower paper and soft colors made for great wedding layouts.  I do promise though that I have layouts coming up not using the kit….haha So, until next time I’ll leave you with another close up of my clusters.  Stay crafty!

Beach Carbs | Felicity Jane

September 3, 2017

Hey scrappy friends!  I’m here today with a layout inspired by Laura’s sketch over at Stuck ? Sketches.  I don’t usually do layouts that are all strips as they are a challenge to me, but I figured since I’m challenging myself with the no buy I’d also challenge myself to try sketches that I normally would shy away from.
I’m still working on killing my Felicity Jane Summer kit, and this one was made with branding strips, washi and cut up pocket page cards.
The embellishments were also from the kit, but I added my homemade enamel dots, and one of the doilies that I bought in a pack of 1,000!  Leaving the doily white didn’t give it enough umph so I colored it with a Mr. Huey’s ink dauber that I received in a Studio Calico kit year and years ago.
The odd title came from a lack of letters left in my kit, but I does fit if you read my journalling.  Every year on the day my parents leave the beach we go for breakfast as a place called Royal Treat.  They have the biggest breakfast I’ve ever seen, and thick Italian toast…it must be two inches thick.  So the name does fit.
I also turned the turquoise project life card the “wrong way to make the scallops look more like stripes, and I used the black and white stripe branding strip to fit challenge over at Lasting Memories.
Hope you enjoyed reading about my process, and I hope to be back soon with new layouts and even a process video.  I’ve been so busy just creating that I haven’t stopped to filmed anything.  Until next time then…stay crafty!

Instasweet | Stuck ? Sketches | Simple Stories

July 28, 2017

Hey Scrappy Friends!  Back today working with a new collection in my stash buster challenge.  Today I’m working with the Simple Stories Hello Baby collection.  I received a friends remainder of this kit.  She had already made a mini album out of this.  I used her bits and pieces to made two layouts (one already shared here) and a mini album that I’ll share later via video.
My inspiration for this layout came from the July 15th sketch over at Stuck?Sketches.  The doily is from the dollar store and I used a scallop punch on the border on the right side. The words cute, love and cupcake were all fussy cute from 2×2 snap squares.  I chose the cupcake as an embellishment because J’s dress has a cupcake on it.
This one came together very quickly and I LOVE how it turned out.  Have you been doing any scrapping this summer?  Leave me a comment and I’ll drop by to see your creation too.  Until next time…stay crafty!
