Just dropping in with here with another project inspiration for Paper Crafter Anonymous. This card uses the Chalk It Up paper collection, and was one of those cards that took on a life of it’s own.
I started out making this is a back to school card for a teen with a believe in yourself sentiment, but obviously that never happened. I didn’t like the way the sentiment embossed. I think it may have had to many details because I used fine embossing powder and regular it melted all into each other.
What I ended up with was an encouragement card for a mom that may be going through a stressful back to school time with her kiddos. All the changes can wear anyone out, but I thought the sentiment of cherish this would help remind that special mom in your life that someday we’ll miss this!
The sentiment is embossed with aqua powder. The embellishments are elements are cut from the paper using my epiphany crafts epoxy machine, and the smile is a cut up photo overlay.
I hope this inspires you to let your cards ideas take a life of their own, and lead you in new creative directions. Until next time…keep scrapping!
Hi all – I’m here with your Friday Inspiration for Paper Crafter Anonymous. This week I created a blank layout, using the Confetti Wishes paper, for my friend who is due in November with her little girl. What I liked about this layout was it used one piece of paper, just cut and flipped. It’s great way to get more mileage out of your patterned paper.
The paper is white, but the Recollections tag I wanted to use was more of an aged look. To make them match I took Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink and rubbed layer on layer on until they were a more similar color. Just another tip to get more out of what you own.
I envision the photos on this page in a topsy turvy fashion. Kind of skewed like the gorgeous cake in the picture. Maybe before I give it to her I’ll place the photo mats in the fashion and write the picture size on them to make it even easier for her.
As is my usually style I kept this card really clean and simple. A few gems and some banners made from matching paper are the main embellishment. As a tip for you – the striped banner is actually the part at the bottom of the paper we usually cut off and throw away.
The stamped heart sits on some pop dots, and is colored with copic markers. The markers match the aqua dots in the top patterned paper.
Hope you’re enjoying seeing what I’ve been creating and I’d love to have you as a follower of my blog. Until next week….Keep Scrapping!
