Hi Scrappy Friends! I’m back today sharing a layout I created of our son and daughter when she was just a newborn. This photo of him just laying and staring at her just melts my heart. While she doesn’t lie still now he loves her even more.
For this layout I used the Pink Paislee penpal collection. On the heart paper near the bottom though I also used some gesso to town down how bright the colors were since I wanted a soft feel since the picture is so sweet.
I also wanted to show you how The Best Glue ever solved a frew scrappy problems I ran into during creating this. The photo above you can see how my tap runner lifted right up because of the dimension of my layers.
In the photos below you’ll see I have some clear die cuts I wanted to use. I used BGE on the clear leaves and see how you can’t even see it!
Well, I better run – we need to leave for work/school in 45 minutes and no one is even out of bed yet!!!
Hi Scrappy Friends! I hope you had a wonderful National Scrapbook Day. I only finished one layout, but I did an hour long live video on my Facebook page and that was great fun.
The layout I completed was for several challenges. I used a the national scrapbook day sketch from Scrapbook Generation combined with Victoria Marie’s grid challenge. I also used my March kit from Felicity Jane.
This is the first layout I made with my Felicity Jane kit, and I absolutely loved it. The colors all matched so perfectly, and I was able to use their embellishments and some I made myself to created this adorable layout of our daughter.
The embellishment that I made myself was the tag. I cut it from white cardstock and sprayed it with Blush Color Spray from Heidi Swapp. I added a die cut from the kit and added some tiny words from Freckled Fawn, a punched heart and some enamel dots.
I really love how this turned out and can’t wait to hear what you all think. What did you do for National Scrapbook Day?
Hey everyone! I’ve been keeping something under my hat and can finally share with you. I’m a guest designer for part of April and May over at the challenge blog Use Your Stuff. I have participated with them before, but not nearly enough.
Their challenge this week is to use flower…eeekk…not something I’ve done a lot of with only having a girl the last year, and doing boy layouts for six. I have to say though after some thought I came up with an awesome idea…well if I do say so myself!
I did a search on Pinterest for one sheet wonder ideas. Yes – all eight of these cards were made with one sheet of patterned paper, and two sheets of cardstock. I’m not a regular cardmaker, but this is certainly and idea I can get behind and a great way to use papers I may not use otherwise.
The paper is one I received in a Studio Calico kit years ago if I’m not mistaken. It’s from Pink Paisley’s Switchboard collection and the specific paper is Hey There. The punches and stamps are from my Stampin’ Up stash that I’ve had for years.
I hope this gives you a new look at some of that paper you may not use in your traditional way, and I hope it inspires you to pull out some flowers and link up with the Use Your Stuff challenge. I’ll be back with them in early May so stay tuned for some more of their great challenges.
Hi everyone and welcome to the last Scrapping Our Stash blog hop for the year. I’m your last stop, but you should have arrived here from Majken’s blog.
I’m the only one who didn’t do Christmas for the hop 🙂 I wanted to get the papers in this layout used up! It’s a very old Scrapbook Generation kit that I couldn’t use the way they intended so I challenged myself to use it up.I used it, but still mange to have most of it left…lol
The background and title were cut from my cameo and designed by my friend Stacia. I them took my cheap watercolor set from Michael’s and colored the hearts a pale pink. The papers from the background and heart fillings are Pink Paislee Bella Rouge. Oh, and the washi tape…hate it on the photo above, but like it in real life…strange!
Thanks for hoping with us today…and all year long! Can’t wait to see what January brings for our hop community.
