Two Peas In A Pod Boy Scrapbook Layout

July 8, 2020

Hey crafty friends!  It’s that time again where I get to share with you what I created for the Southern Girls Challenge team. For our go around this time I used photos of my hubby and son to create this Two Peas In A Pod Boy Scrapbook Layout.

These photos were taken on our son’s last birthday trip while we were out for dinner and one of our new favorite places.  I’ve been going to this beach since I was seven and we tried this restaurant for the first time this year.  Why did we wait that long… it’s amazing!

Two Peas In A Pod Boy Scrapbook Layout

Our son was sitting with my hubby, they were wearing the same shirt, and making funny faces…despite it being grainy photos from being inside at night…it was a must scrap.  The two peas title so fits them because other than their face shape they are almost identical.  They have the same body style, same hair texture, same fingers and toes, similar personalities – it’s adorable.

As a side note, if you have any tips on photographing cream paper I could sure use them.  Anytime I try to take pictures of layouts with a cream base they look all wonky.  Either the color isn’t right, even with correcting in software, of it gets these weird lines.

I think that’s it for now.  The design speaks for itself, but it’s the story I wanted to share with you.  I hope it inspires you to use some of those photos that aren’t stunning from a photography standpoint, but have a special story worth documenting. Until next time…stay crafty!

Fantastic Four | Scrap The Boys | Southern Girls

October 19, 2017

Hey Everyone!  Thanks for joining me as I share my latest creation.  This is a layout using our nephew’s fourth birthday picture.  He’s five already!
I started the layout with the sketch over at Scrap The Boys and the stripe challenge from Southern Girls.  Both challenges gave me a great jumping off point.
The paper I chose is the Echo Park Birthday Wishes collection. The main reason I chose this collection was that it was out on my desk from two other creations so it was handy.  I did however work in elements from other paper companies to achieve the look I was going for.

I have really been working on combining collections to get things used up.  For example, the letters in the paper collection were just wrong somehow.  Instead of used a combination of tiny letters from Jillibean Soup and Bella Blvd’s Max collection.  The stars were also Bella products that I have two sheets of and I’m trying to get used up.
I hope you like my product mash up, and that it gives you ideas of how to combine collections for a seamless layout.  Until next time…stay crafty!

Easy Summer Camp 1 Page Layout – Guest Designer | Scrap The Boys

July 31, 2017

Hey Scrappy Friends!  I am so honored to be a guest designer for the Scrap The Boys challenge blog.  This month their challenge is to use a 5×7 photo.  I haven’t used anything that large in awhile and let me tell you…when I got the photo back from the printer it seemed HUGE!
The photo is our son all ready for his first field trip that an adult family member wasn’t going on with him.  It also wasn’t a small place they were going to a very large amusement park that had wet and dry rides….perhaps you’ve heard of it…Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom.  I’ll tell you…mom was more nervous than he was.  He had a blast…summer camp has been amazing for him and his energy level.

1 page Summer Camp Scrapbook Layout using Bella Blvd Max scrapbook supplies
On to the page….Since he was wearing black short and bright t-shirt I choose black textured American Crafts cardstock for my base.  I figured the colors would pop off the page better.  The patterned papers I used are from an older Bella Blvd collection called Max. The title and stars came from the 12×12 stickers sheet. The tiny word stickers came from the trinket stickers, but what I’m most excited about is the shark embellishment.  That came from the candid cards which are 2×2 – 4×6 cards that look like they are meant for project life.  I fussy cut the shark to match the shark on his shirt.
I outlined the title in a white Gelly Roll pen, and the doodle border on the star paper is just a thin Sharpe.  Some Dilyussions white linen splatters and some homemade enamel dots and I was done.  This layout only took me about half and hour, and of course I didn’t record it.
Well, that’s my page for today!  I hope you head on over to the Scrap The Boys blog and play long with this months challenge.  Be sure to let them know Lyne sent you.  Until next time….

This is what happens when you create a masculine layout with girl supplies

May 29, 2017

Hi Scrappy Friends!  I’m back with something a bit different for my blog…a 9×12 layout.  I saw this on Inkie Quill’s channel and figured I’ve give it a try for some variety.  I really ended up loving it.  For single 4×6 photos it was so much easier to not have as much white space to fill, and I think the layout looks more balanced.  It won’t be something I completely change to, but I will definitely be incorporating some into my albums.
The other thing that’s different about this layout, at least for my blog is that the photo is my boy, but the supplies are meant for a girl.  I used the Felicity Jane Caroline kit from April as the colors were perfect for the photo.
To make this more masculine I pulled in the blue/navy and grey elements to balance out the pink.  For me yellow is gender neutral so that worked week also.  I then pulled in some wood elements for another masculine touch.  Some mustard and seafoam Heidi Swapp Color Shine and I called it a day.
I also wanted to share with you the glue I used to attach my wood elements…The Best Glue Ever.  I used my Embellie Gellie to pick them up, but look at how little glue I had to use.
I also will be entering this layout into the challenge at Scrap The Boys.

Lil’ Stinker Layout

February 21, 2016

Hi everyone – long time no scrap.  I’m back today with an entry for a new to me challenge site called Scrap The Boys.  They had a fun sketch this month and here is my take…
I used the September kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This was meant to be a travel themed kit, but obviously I didn’t use it that way.  The black pieces that frame my picture are chipboard that our son helped me emboss with black powder.
Hope you love my page, and check out the challenge site I found.
