Happy Girls Scrapbook Layout

January 3, 2021

Hey crafty friends and Happy New Year!  I’m glad to be back sharing with you.  I know I say this every year, but I hope to be more consistent in posting this year.  It’s one of my goals every year honestly…to do more than the year before.  To start the year off right I’m sharing this Happy Girls scrapbook layout for the anything goes challenge at Challenge Yourself.

This layout is from a trip we took to Lancaster to see my sister.  One of our favorite places to visit is a local bakery that, besides having great baked goodies, has a place with animals you can feed, an awesome playground and some fun multi person swings.  I managed to grab a photo of our daughter on the loving the swings.  The other photo is of her, I and my sister. I tried to convince our son to get in the photo, but he was just to busy playing on the playground.

The papers that I used for this collection are from a VERY old Mind Minds Eye 6×6 paper pad.  It was from the sweetest things collection.  Back then they had one over arching collection name and them sub color ways underneath.  This one was the Bluebell collection, and as of when I’m writing this can still be found on ebay.

Since I only had the 6×6 pad left from the collection I needed to be creative in the way I used it to fill the page.  I started by cutting strips and piecing them together around the edge trying to line up the patterns to make the seams disappear.  I also pieced together two pieces to create the larger 8×8 square on the background.  The smaller pieces are 2×2 and then I used scraps behind my 3×4 photos.  It really was a layout that came together very quickly.

Well, I think that’s it for today. I’ve done website maintenance, cups, laundry, cleaning, shop posting, wholesale ordering, errands, schooling with big kiddo, legos with little kiddo and I’m sure things I’m forgetting….I’m beat.  A layout and a post to start the new year though…not to shabby.  I hope to be back with you soon.  Until next time…Stay crafty!

Pretty Princess Scrapbook Layout

June 26, 2019

Hi guys!  Welcome back to a layout post here at The Paper Addict.  I’ve been scrapping a bit if you’ve been watching you my youtube channel, but I’m glad to be back blogging again too.  This pretty princess scrapbook layout was created for the newest challenge over at Southern Girls.

For this round my team used stripes on their projects.  I have used stripes in two different ones on this layout.  Can you find them both? One is fairly obvious and the other, in person, is much more subtle.

If you watched my first Crafty Maven Getaway Youtube Hop video this princess scrapbook layout is the accompanying page to that layout. The event was a pretty princess photo shoot our daughter was invited to for her friend Tessa’s birthday.

Thanks so much for sticking with me.  Until next time….Stay Crafty!

Hello Baby

May 23, 2016

I’m here today with another layout for Scrapbook Challenges using one of our daughters newborn photos.  This took a totally different turn than the sketch, but I LOVE how it came out.

Except for the sequins and doily all these products come from Simple Stories.  The doily was a plain white one from my stash that I colored with Tim Holtz Broken China distress paint and my waterbrush.  It matches the blue in the paper perfectly.
Thanks for checking out my layout, and as always…if you participate please leave me a link so I can be sure to check it out.

Hello World

May 16, 2016

I’m up today with another Scrapbook Challenges layout, but it includes several firsts.  It’s Julia’s blog debut first and foremost.  She was only about two hours old in these photos!  They are my Mom, Dad, Sister, Brother-In-Law and our son meeting her.
The second first is that this is my first scraptastic layout.  When I saw their Drops of Jupiter kit in March and then Eloise in April I knew I had to sign up.  Everything on the layout, except for the pink background and the wood veneer hearts came from the kit.  I love how it all worked together.

Come back next week for a layout showcasing Julia’s newborn photo shoot pictures.  I LOVE how it came out.

Happy Winter

May 9, 2016

I’m happy to be back with another layout today for Scrapbook Challenges.  I am even more thankful than normal to be part of their design team right now.  I think if I wasn’t I wouldn’t be getting any layouts done…I’d just be holding Julia all day long…
This layout was done with the January 2016 kit from My Creative Scrapbook.  It features washi tape and die cuts from Pebbles, paper and stickers from Echo Park, letters from Doodlebug and a die cut from Tim Holtz.
To make the die cut on the top/bottom of the photos extra special I pressed them into my VersaMark stamp pad and then embossed them with Ranger chunky embossing powder.  It gives the snowflakes a glossy appearance. It’s almost like they are glistening.
Thanks for joining me today, and if you ever have any questions about my process or a layout I’d love to answer them!
