Yup…Back again with another Lasting Memories layout reveal. This time we were asked to create a layout about someone or something that is beautiful to us. Since hubby was last time I had to do a layout of our son this time 🙂
I used a freebie sketch from Scrapbook Generations for this layout since I haven’t done a double pager in forever. I also did something I don’t normally do on this layout…mixed manufacturers. The paper is from Carta Bella’s line Boy Oh Boy, the journalling card is from Fancy Pants Be Different, and the two text embellishments are from JilliBean Soup Could as Cucumber Soup.
The story behind the layout shows exactly our sons personality…see all the smiles in the photos…he had a double ear infection and a 104 degree fever. Even now, at four, he tries so hard to be smiley all the time no matter what is going on..well unless he’s over tired. I really hope this continues as he grows up as a positive outlook will help him in life.
Until next time…Keep Scrapping!
Scrapbook Generation Blog Hop And Child’s Play Challenge Reveal
Hi everyone and welcome to the Scrapbook Generation blog hop for December teamed with my December 1st reveal for Child’s Play Challenge. If you’re hopping along with Scrapbook Generation you should have arrived here from Laura’s blog. If you’re here for the Child’s Play Challenge reveal, or would just like to join the hop, please start at Scrapbook Generation’s blog.
For the hop we were asked to use any sketch by Scrapbook Generation. For Child’s Play Challenge we were asked to use the movie Polar Express for inspiration. Since both reveals were on the same day I challenged myself to combine them.
I have never seen Polar Express so I decided to use blue for my main color like the cover of the movie. The cover also had a train coming almost right out of it and that’s where I decided to merge the two things. I chose the October 2014 free sketch since it also has photos coming out of one corner. The photos are from 2012 wacky week at our son’s daycare.
You can find the SG sketches in their books and as downloads in the SG store, and there is a free one every month in case you wanted to try it out. Now before you head on over to Penny’s blog I’d love for you to follow me here, with bloglovin and on Facebook. Alsoleave a comment on each blog and one lucky commenter will receive a free sketch bundle of their choice from the store.
The winner will be drawn on Monday, December 8th which leaves you one week to leave a comment.
I am also entering this for the Lasting Memories DT call
Until next time…Keep Scrappin!
Family Layout for Child’s Play Challenge
Time for another fun reveal at Child’s Play Challenge. This time we were to use the toy Jack In The Box. Our son didn’t have one, but I know the idea is that the clown pops out of the box and makes the child smile. The smiling made me think of all the smiling photos we got on our recent beach vacation.
I admit that I’ve been low on inspiration lately so I pulled out one of my Scrapbook Generation kits. These paper were part of my August kit and I used the sketch by Debbie Sanders. I changed some of the cards on the left size and used a larger photo on the right. I love having these kits on hand for when I’m low on mojo.
Did you child have a Jack In The Box? Are you inspired some other way by this challenge? I can’t wait to see what you come up with. Until next time…Keep Scrapping!
