Back To School Scrapbook Layout

March 3, 2022

Hey crafty friends…welcome back!  I’m here today to share with you a new back to school scrapbook layout.  This layout using a sketch from the January challenges over at Paper Issues, and a collection from Jillibean Soup.

If you’ve been following with me the last few months the January sketch challenges Paper Issues had has really been my jam.  I’ve used so many of them.  There are even ones I’ve used and haven’t shared. Here is the one I used for this layout.

The sketch called for torn papers, which is something I haven’t really mastered yet, so I used the same general shape of the papers, but kept the edges straight cut.  The sketch also called for the embellishments in a vertical fashion across the whole page.  I didn’t have anything that worked in that fashion so I just went with what felt right.

The paper collection I used is a very old one from Jillibean Soup.  So old that unfortunately the company doesn’t make paper anymore 🙁  It’s really sad because they always had nice neutral embellishments and papers.  Back To School Scrapbook Layout

I titled this layout Hello New School because it really was for both of them.  Our girl started Kindergarten this year so for her it was a whole new school.  Our son had been here previously, but did cyber school last year due to everything going on with the pandemic.  His return to the elementary school had him in a new part of he building since he is in 5th grade…all new.

Well – I’m signing off to go and try to come up with what my next creation will be.  I have a die-cut title I want to use, but no papers that really match so it will be a challenge.  Until next time….stay crafty!

In The Zone Scrapbook Layout

January 30, 2022

Hey friends!  Sorry I missed you on Thursday.  I wasn’t feeling myself and just sat around all day doing nothing 🙁  I did mange this week to finish my In The Zone Scrapbook Layout today, and thought I’d share it with you anyway.

As per usual lately I started with a sketch from Paper Issues.   In January they had a new sketch every day, and it has brought me so much inspiration. This one had 3 photos which was just perfect for what I wanted to document.

I had two photos from our trip to Schellville Christas Village that documented our son’s favorite part. I really wanted a third though showing the entrance of Snow Zone.  I hadn’t gotten one since it was soooo busy when we went.  I went on the events facebook and found one they posted.  I’ve never done that before, but I found some great ones they took of when the event was empty that I could use as support for mine.

In The Zone Scrapbook Layout

Other than moving my title a smidge I kept fairly close to the sketch.  I’m also running out of useable embellishments so I kept this one fairly simple.  Almost everything I have left is palm sized or larger.  I’m not one for huge embellishments like that.

Well,  off to get my next layout planned.  Hope to have another layout to share soon.  Until next time….stay crafty!

Awesome Summer Hair Boy Scrapbook Layout

January 13, 2022

Hey crafty friends!  I actually had some time to scrapbook recently and used sketch nine from the She’s Crafty Mini Paper Pad class that I started so very long ago.  I ended up creating this Awesome Summer Hair boy themed scrapbook layout.

The sketch that was used this go around came from A Cherry On Top.  I’m not sure it’s one that would have called my name since it has both hexagons and long strips. I changed it up enough that I was comfortable using it, but it was still a bit of a challenge.

A cherry on top sketch

The first thing I did was change the photo orientation to work with the orientation of the photos I wanted to use.  I moved the 2.5 x 1.5 from long and on the bottom to right next to the other two photos.  The  photos I used are of our sons temporary blue hair from this summer.  He loved it!

When I started putting the sketch together I actually did the hexagons as my first thing, and then fit the rest of the pieces around those.  I thought if I started in the middle I’d make my square pieces to large and then not be able to fit the hexagons in.

As I was working on this I wasn’t so sure I was loving it, but in the end I really do.  Now I need to go an do some more creating, or at least cleaning up of my space so I feel inspired.  I really need to use this kit up too.  I’m down to very few embellishments that aren’t words. Until next time….stay crafty!

Instasweet | Stuck ? Sketches | Simple Stories

July 28, 2017

Hey Scrappy Friends!  Back today working with a new collection in my stash buster challenge.  Today I’m working with the Simple Stories Hello Baby collection.  I received a friends remainder of this kit.  She had already made a mini album out of this.  I used her bits and pieces to made two layouts (one already shared here) and a mini album that I’ll share later via video.
My inspiration for this layout came from the July 15th sketch over at Stuck?Sketches.  The doily is from the dollar store and I used a scallop punch on the border on the right side. The words cute, love and cupcake were all fussy cute from 2×2 snap squares.  I chose the cupcake as an embellishment because J’s dress has a cupcake on it.
This one came together very quickly and I LOVE how it turned out.  Have you been doing any scrapping this summer?  Leave me a comment and I’ll drop by to see your creation too.  Until next time…stay crafty!

An Adorable Welcome Home Puppy One Page Layout

June 19, 2017

Hey Scrappy Friends!  I’m back with another process video today.  This time I was inspired by the sketch and word from May 15th at Scrap Our Stash.  Wish I had gotten this one recorded, and edited, in time to enter the challenge.
With the sketch you had to use the word mother, and use one item for each letter.  Mine are M – My Mind Eye Paper, O – Ornamental Shape Stickers, T – The Best Glue Ever for my enamel dots and woods pieces, H – Hearts and Home, E – Echo Park Paper, R – Red to match the new puppy.
To hear all about my thought process when creating this please head over to my youtube channel to check out the process video.  Thanks for checking my creations out!
