Travel Double Page Scrapbook Layout

January 18, 2021

Hey crafty friends!  Can you believe I’m back again already!!?? This time I’m back with a double page layout.  The left hand page of this travel double page scrapbook layout is inspired by the layout sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap. The right hand page was adapted from a sketch from one of Alison Davis’s sketch books.

I stuck very closely to the sketch for the strips on the left hand side and where the title is.  I did not however use the strips under the photos.  I used larger photos so once I matted them the strips just didn’t fit without making the layout look over crowded.  I do still need to add my journalling in the space above my title. Oh, my hubby did let me know that I need to an a b to my title:-)

For this layout I used an older Simple Stories collection called So Rad.  If I have my years correct this collection came out in 2015.  One of my goals for this year is to use more collections than I buy so you’ll likely be seeing many older collections from me this year.

I am also trying not to be so fussy about every scrap of paper.  Will I still gut my 12×12 sure, but I’m going to try to no over analyze every photo I back and the like.  I will not overthink cutting a piece of paper for a strip.  I mean we all have enough to last a lifetime don’t we!?

I also managed to make a process video to go along with these pages…I’m feeling like a rock star…lol If you’d like to watch me create please go on over and check that out.  I’d love to have you subscribe.

Okay – I’m signing off to hopefully go create more.  I love being able to share with you more regularly.  If you like to see me use a specific collection let me know, and if I have it, I’d be happy to try.  Until next time….stay crafty!

School Photo Boy Scrapbook Layout

August 11, 2020

Hey crafty friends!  Welcome back to another project.  I decided not to do goals this month as we have such a busy schedule with time away, sports starting, school starting, etc.  I just wanted to enjoy being creative when I could during this hectic time.  So I present for your viewing pleasure this school photo boy scrapbook layout.

To create this page I started with a sketch created by Lisa from Sketch~N~Scrap. I took her sketch and flipped it upside down so that the photo was on the opposite side for whatever reason it just didn’t look right to me with my nephew “looking” the other way.  Instead of using two photos I used one larger one of my nephew’s school photo shoot.  It was perfect since I often don’t know what to do with the larger 5×7 photo size. I didn’t have a huge title to use so I used that block for some embellishments, and also gave my sister-in-law a journalling spot to record some of her thoughts from his second grade year.

The product collection is an older echo park called Jack and Jill.  There was a boy collection and a girl collection.  I still have lots of the boy set left so it’s something I should focus on using up.  Isn’t that always what we’re trying to do!?

Okay, I really should get going and get some home things accomplished.  I am always focused on cleaning out the house, but even more so now that schooling will be done at home!  The less stuff around the less distractions we all will have. Until next time…stay crafty and stay safe.

Happy Birthday Layout

January 24, 2016

Welcome to another snow day post.  This one I completed using the January 15th sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap.  It was perfect to highlight this larger photo of our family from our sons 2nd birthday back in 2012.
The paper is a combination of a really old DoodleBug Collection and just and old Doodlebug Collection called Hip Hip Hooray.  I outlined the brackets and ampersand to highlight them again the patterned paper.  I also did some hand doodling to look like stitching along the edge of all the papers. In person it really set the design off nicely.

Splash Layout

July 24, 2015

Welcome back to another Scrapping Our Stash blog hope.  I’m so excited to be participating two months in a row, and honestly my paper just made the qualification since the new releases started coming out last week.

You should have arrived here from Laura’s blog…didn’t she have an awesome project!
My project was inspired by a Sketch~N~Scrap sketch with the twist of old/vintage photos.  I didn’t have any vintage photos, but the ones I am using are from when our son was about 18 months…he’s now about 4 months away from being five!
The paper is from Carta Bella’s Soak up the Sun collection.  The green washi has been in my stash for years and the orange is from Freckled Fawn.  I used some modeling paste for the stars and some other random Freckled Fawn embellishments.
I know there is a large journalling area on this page, which is not like me, but there was actually a large story I wanted to remember about these photos.  The title is some Doodlebug chipboard letters.  I love them, but they have been sitting in my stash for quite sometime since they are so big.
You also may have noticed that the upper left corner looks a little wonky. I promise that is not due to a bad photo, but will be part of the memory now.  I was playing catch  with our son with a soft ball in the basement and wouldn’t you know he managed to knock a glass of water all of over my scrap desk!  I thought about re-doing the layout and then thought…nah….I’ll just add some journalling to the back and it will be part of the memory!
Now I send you off to Audrey’s blog to see what amazing creation she has for us this month.  Until next time…Keep scrapping!

Boys Will Be Boys

July 7, 2015

When I saw the July 1st sketch over at Sketch~N~Scrap I knew exactly what pictures I wanted to use, and it came together in right around an hour.  An hour is probably a first for me as I tend to agonize over every little embellishment.
The paper is an old boys collection from Echo Park that I have been hoarding, but I’m really trying to get through my stash as there are so many new collections I want to buy.  The flair is from an awesome Easy shop called A Flair For Buttons.  Some Bella enamel dots, Studio Calico wood veneer and Jillibean Soup ephemera and I was ready to go.
What do you think of the sketch and my take?  Will you use it?  I want to see if you do!  Until next time…Keep Scrapping!
