1st Day Of Pre-School Layout

October 12, 2014

Hi everyone!  Our son was so excited to start Pre-K this year, and when I saw how the pictures came out I had to scrap them right away.
I used the October sketch from DCWV as my starting point.  Both of my background papers come from a DCWV stack.  They don’t make the green paper anymore, and this was my last piece.  It’s my favorite green ever!
The patterned paper stars are cut with dies.  The solid stars are from the Stamps of Life All 4 Stars set. The wood veneer stars, and the green solid star, are from Studio Calico.
I used stars and space paper because to us our son is a star and out of this world…corny…I know!
The awesome title comes from Paper Wizard. It’s four different layers and gives great depth to the layout.  If you haven’t used any of their die cuts yet…you have to check them out!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my layout and will take a look at the vendor I used and the challenges I entered.  Until next time…Keep Scrapping!

Dots and Spots Layout

April 30, 2014

Time for another reveal with Team Trace over at Southern Girls Challenge. The challenge this time is to use dots and spots.
I created these on my layout in groups around the corners where my photos met the middle of my layout.  To do this I used a variety of things so that their would be all different heights and textures.  There are buttons, brads, enamel dots, pearl pens, stickles and drops of color shine.
The photos I chose were of our little one falling asleep in various places during our first vacation.  He was/is a horrible sleeper, but on vacation he never slept so well!

I hope you enjoyed the layout, and that you’ll come link up with us over at the challenge.  We can’t wait to see what dots and spots you come up with!

Get Inky! Farewell & Welcome Blog Hop

January 18, 2014

Hi, and welcome to the Get Inky! Farewell & Welcome Blog Hop.  You should have arrived here from La-Vie’s blog.  If you happened to have stumbled into the hop mid-way be sure to start at the Get Inky! Challenge Blog for a chance to win a fun prize.
The blog hop is saying goodbye to our old team members, and welcoming our new.  I was a guest designer last time, and am a part-time design team member this go around.  I am happy to be included again as Get Inky! makes a quality stamp, and all the girls are a blast to work with.
For my project I choose to use the cricut cartridge A Child’s Year.  I cut out a fairy and then replaced her wand with a flower. After she was glued down I used stickler and glitter for her wings.
The flowers, and butterflies, are stamped with Blue Moon Creation’s build a flower that is part of the Love Bugs set.  The pink and purple flowers were colored with a blender pen and my stamp pads.  The green and yellow are wink of stella pens.  They give a slight sheen/glitter, but not a whole lot…hence wink I guess.
Now for the fun part.  Leave a comment on each blog along the way and you’ll be entered to win:
* one of three one-year Inky Moonbeam memberships
* one Crafty Card Gallery app donated from Jennifer Restivo
To see what the club is all about, visit
Blue Moon Creations

I will also be offering a prize!  If you leave a comment, and follow my blog, you’ll be entered to win the card I created as well as a 6×6 paper pad to help you create some cool things! 2nd December ScrapStuffz Inspired By Challenge

December 20, 2013

Welcome back everyone!  We’re having two reveals over at ScrapStuffz this month, and it’s time for my second.  Remember, you can use one, or both, to do entries this month!
I was instantly inspired by the two trees, and I used two pictures of our Christmas tree from 2012.  One is of hubby and son while we hunted one down, and the other is it all decorated. After that I wanted to mimic the different picture boxes by using different papers…something I really struggle with.  I am always afraid of the patterns being two busy, but I ended up loving the effect.

The title was cut from several different Cricut cartridges.  The wreath for the O was inspired by the wreathes in the inspiration photo.  The letters were welding in the Cricut Craft Room, and the tree was topped with some red stickles.
I hope you’ll come over and join us!

Get Inky Challenge 17: Thanks

November 12, 2013

It’s time for another Get Inky Stamps by Blue Moon Creations inspiration post.  This time their challenge is thanks.  There are so may ways you can go with this topic!
I choose to use the 2013 Holiday set and rather than make a thank you card, make a tag that could go on…well…pretty much anything.  My first thoughts were a bottle of wine or a glassine bag of cookies…yum!
To make the sky of the tag I crumbled the tag and then used my ink applicator to rub ink around the tag.  I then ironed the tag (no steam!) to make it flat again.
I also used a new to me product called muddles puddles to do the snow. I like the textured effect it gave, but it wasn’t sparkling enough like fresh snow does.  Stickles to the rescue!  I put clear Stickles on top of the muddle puddles and it was perfect.
The snow flakes are buttons that I cut off the thread holder part to be able to use on my cards and pages.
I hope this inspires you to think outside the box and enter the Thanks challenge.
