Cross Stitch Update February 2022

March 1, 2022

Hey guys – back with my Cross Stitch Update for February 2022. If you want to see what I got done last months click here.

If February I started Tall Seasons by The Sunflower Seed here.

Tall Seasons by The Sunflower Seed

Half way through the month I found myself not wanting to stitch and I couldn’t figure out why.  I decided to put this aside and pull out something different to see if that motivated me.  I ended February with this much done, and think this one will be really pretty once I get back to.

The piece I pulled out in order to try and get my mojo back was Nobody Loves My by Moira Blackburn. I have changed some of the colors on this one as my chart shows different colors than the ones I see now.  The project started the month here..

I didn’t do to badly on this one, despite having to go get missing thread colors, and ended the month with this progress…

nobody loves me

Finally I started a new piece!  Im doing an astronaut riding a dinosaur pieces that I purchased on Etsy from XCrossStitchPatternX. I already know what you’re thinking…that doesn’t sound like a pieces I’d normally be doing.  Its not!  I was asked by my best friends 19 year old if I’d do it for her since her mom can’t stitch anymore…well duh…yes 🙂

I only got the fabric two days before months end so there isn’t much progress, but here it is.  Since this is all full stitches and only like 12 colors I hope that it will be done fairly quickly.

Well – that’s all I have for right now.  I’m pleased with getting three projects worked on, but would always loved to have more progress.  Please let me know if you’d like to see anything else, or something in a different fashion.  Also, if you have updated of your own leave me a link with where to see them and I’d be happy to pop over.  Until next time…stay crafty!

Cross Stitch Update January 2022

February 3, 2022

Hey guys – back with my Cross Stitch Update for January 2022. If you want to see what I got done last months click here.  I got a bunch done on one project this month, but not so much on another.

I started January here on Tall Seasons by The Sunflower Seed.

I’m still really enjoying this one so I feel like I got a lot done for the month.  I ended the month with this section done.  This is the second house in the series and I have started working left to the first house.

Next up I have the German Santa I’m determined to finish some day.  I’m going to have to come up with a better plan of how to work on this because I’m getting now where.  If you have any suggestions please let me know! I started the month here.

December 2021 cross stitch update

I did one strand each week for this month and while I can see progress it isn’t much.  If I continue this way it will never get done.

Thanks for always sticking through these photo heavy posts, and if you’d rather see this progress in a different format please leave a comment and let me know.  Until next time…stay crafty!

Cross Stitch Update December 2021

January 2, 2022

Hey crafty friends!  I hope that this holiday season finds you well, and that your new year starts off amazing.  I’m not sure I’ve ever shared that before I ever scrapbooked, or made cups, that I was a cross stitcher.

I have been stitching since I was six years old, but when the kiddos were smaller it just wasn’t practical with sticky hands around.  Since they are a bit older now and can understand not touching I have pulled my projects back out.

Without further ado I give you my blog cross stitch update.  I started back with pieces I already had started, and fair warning…this is a photo heavy post.

Here is where I started with this small from PostStitches

and….it is finished!

I then moved on to an ornament from SamSarah Design Studio called Winter Love.  This pattern was part of the Just Cross Stitch ornament edition in 2007. Here’s the starting point

and I finished it!  Now I have to learn what to do with the small pieces when they are done.  Since I don’t sew, even though I own a machine, I need to find some ways to finish these.

Next up is Tall Seasons by The Sunflower Seed.  This one I started YEARS ago and I still really love it.  I’m stitching it with the recommended thread and I believe this was fabric I had on hand.  Here is where I started in December

And then where I ended.  I didn’t feel like I got much done until I saw these photos.

Last but not least I have a German santa that I started as part of a stitch a long in 2009.  This was right before I got pregnant with our first child so it got put up for a rather long time.  I’m not sure I love the pattern anymore, but it’s so close to done that I can’t put it aside any longer.  I started here

Cross Stitch Updated December 2021

I ended the month with a bit done.  My goal for this is just to have visible progress every month hoping it will be close to done by the end of the year.  The spots are no fabric issues – they are the lights from our Christmas tree showing through.

If you’ve gotten this far…thanks for sticking with me and my first cross stitch update.  I hope to be back with you every month this year with a stitching update.  Stay tuned this week as I’ll be making posts with my stitching, and scrapbook, goals for the year.  Until next time….stay crafty!
