Fall College Trip Layout

October 29, 2014

When I saw the double page sketch over at ScrapMuch? the beginning of the month I knew exactly what photos and paper I wanted to use with it. For whatever reason the sketch just screamed fall layout to me. The paper is from Close To My Heart’s Pathfinding collection from the Paper Crafter Anonymous website.
The photos are from a recent trip my parents took our son on to visit my sister at college. I loved how the hints of aqua in the green paper matches my sisters shirt perfectly.   I think the photo on the second page of her holding M is my favorite….really shows how happy they are to see each other.

The title is the initials of my sisters school (Lancaster Bible College) in an awesome green corrugated cardstock, and the tag I colored myself with an inkpad and blending tool.
Since there was so much white space I used my Prima chalking edgers in a green that matches the paper.  This made the ivory a little less stark.  It doesn’t show well in the photos, but I love the look in my book.
Hope I’ve inspired you today, and would love to have you as a follower.  Until next time…Keep Scrapping!

Child’s Play Challenge Reveal

July 2, 2014

Hi Everyone, and welcome to my first DT reveal for Child’s Play Challenges. I loved participating here, and am honored to have been chosen to be on the team.
My first assignment was Colorforms.  I don’t remember having these as a child so I had to go another direction.
The original toy was just shapes in red and blue.  Since we are revealing two days before Fourth of July I went that direction and then used blocks of paper to mimic the squares in the toy after I saw this awesome sketch from Creative Scrappers.  I left the photo and journalling spot blank because my Dad’s birthday is Fourth of July so this page is all ready for a photo of him and our little man, and some journalling of what we did that day.
All the papers are from Doodlebug Designs.  The stars are modeling paste mixed with pearl medium and then topped with crystal glitter…it gives a really nice depth to the page.
I hope to see you enter our challenges – they are so fun.  Until next time…Keep scrappin!
