Slide Buddies

December 20, 2015

Hi fellow scrappers!  I’m here today sharing my newest layout for the (P)inspired challenge over at Paper Issues Facebook group.  The photo had lots of red, white and black elements in it, but what spoke to me was a striped onesie (see the stripes on the sleeves of our sons shirt?) and the saying on the pin said Be the reason someone smiles today.  It’s hard to tell from the photo, but my husband is smiling over playing with our son in these photos.  It was the first time he has gotten to play with him at chick-fil-a.  I also used the black and white paper as a nod to the inspiration.
I had these photos on my desk for awhile, and had tried other things, but nothing seemed to work.  I even threw away a whole nights modeling paste work because it just didn’t complement the photos.  I think this design worked well.
The papers are from Bella Blvd Color Chaos collection and came with my June kit from My Creative Scrapbook.  This is the fifth layout I have gotten out of that kit, and still have tons left!
Thanks for joining me today.  I have plans to get more up this week, but in case I don’t…Have a Merry Christmas!

Soccer Friends

December 4, 2015

Morning Everyone!  In one of Facebook groups our challenge for December was to use a sunburst design, or paper, on your layout.  It’s not something I’d normally use so it was quite a challenge for me.  I actually had to ask a friend how she completed her sunburst.  She used scrap paper to make a template, but with having our son and working I needed something quicker.  I found this you tube tutorial and it was done in no time!
For my sunburst effect I used the Carta Bella Boy Oh Boy line. I didn’t want to use all patterned paper because it looked so busy.  What I did was take a matching color and emboss and arrow pattern, from Heidi Swapp, in clear powder.  I gave the paper a little something, but not too much.
The background paper is from an old Studio Calico kit.  The title actually came from our son.  As I was working on the page he came over to see how it was going, saw the pictures and said…”Look, my soccer friends.”
Hope you enjoyed the layout, and have a great weekend.

Walk With Me Daddy

November 11, 2015

Happy Veterans Day Friends!  Today I’m sharing a layout I completed with the sketch from My Creative Sketches.  They are the challenge blog for the My Creative Scrapbook kits I receive.
This layout was a bit different for me, not only because it included circles, but because of the very toned down color palette. I really wanted to have the photo be the focus…more than usual anyway…so I stuck with grey and a light aqua.
The paper are from a Studio Calico kit from almost two years ago.  The grid paper was perfect for the large amount of journalling I wanted to do on this photo.  The title is a combination of thickers and Jillibean Soup mini alphas.  The little man flair is from A Flair For Buttons on Etsy.
Hope you enjoyed and leave me a link below if you used this sketch so I can check out what you created!

Boo Boo Layout

October 23, 2015

I’m up today with a another reveal for ScrapMuch!?  I’m much for pleased with how this one came out than the last!
I don’t normally scrapbook the non-perfect photos, but this memory had to be captured.  Our son was goofing around in the tub sliding on his bottom and in the time I took for us to say stop he knocked his head on the side…split this eye lid right open.  I actually thought he’d have to get stitches 🙁  He thankfully just ended up with a black eye for a few days…over our vacation.  We got lots of strange looks that year.
Except for my Heidi Swapp roller stamp and thickers…everything came from the Fancy Pants Be Different Collection.  This is an older collection, but most of it can still be purchased online.  I had the 6×6 pad and some embellishments, but picked up the 12×12 paper and more embellishments at the recent expo I attended.
Have you attended an expo recently?  I’d love to see what you created with your purchases and/or what you created with this reveals sketch.  Also, before you go please join my blog…there are lots of different ways to be notified when I post new layouts.  Thank you!

Love You Layout!

September 11, 2015

Oh my gosh guys – I have been so busy that I’ve been neglecting my blog 🙁  I’m finally back today though with a new sketch from ScrapMuch!?

You can see how I left the circle out and changed the orientation of my photos, but otherwise left the sketch alone.  I used the Bella Blvd Hello Autumn collection for all my accent papers, and the wood grain is from Studio Calico.  The orange leaves and green branches are modeling paste mixed with acrylic paint. Some Doodlebug Fall enamel dots, Thickers and I was good to go.
